Energy in Today's Classroom

Energy in Today's Classroom, presented by Central Electric Power Cooperative in Jefferson City, provides a unique hands-on experience for Missouri's middle and high school teachers. The two-day workshop is designed to fully support Missouri's statewide education standards and provides teachers with a background in energy and energy production. Ozark Electric Cooperative sponsors two teachers to attend this program including tuition, instructional materials, meals, and hotel accommodations.


The 2025 course is scheduled to take place July 30-31 in Jefferson City. Active middle or high school teachers in Ozark Electric's service area focusing on math, science, agricultural science, energy, and building trades are eligible to apply. Teachers attending this course receive 15 hours of classroom training which can be converted to professional development hours and will take home a classroom kit for their use. Teachers are also eligible for an Amazon scholarship to purchase approved classroom supplies.
