Deposits

The amount of deposit required will be determined by the applicants' credit rating as determined by the Online Utility Exchange, other regional or national credit verification service. The cooperative will require proof of identification including a social security number, phone number, and physical address for the purpose of determining the proper credit rating of the applying member. In the event that an applying member refuses to provide the cooperative with the applicable proof of identification, then the Maximum Risk deposit will be required before service is provided. The applying member may opt to enter into a pre-pay agreement with the Cooperative, which eliminates the need for a credit check or deposit. Deposits may be refunded to member upon 12 months satisfactory payment history with the Cooperative.

Residential Members

The deposit amount required for all residential will be for Maximum Risk – three times the location average, Moderate Risk – two times the location average, and for Minimum or No Risk - No deposit will be required. If no location average is available, (i.e. new service) applying member will be charged maximum deposit of $400.00 or moderate deposit of $200.00 dependent upon member’s credit rating. No deposit shall be required for a member who is determined to be Minimum or No Risk.

Commercial Members

The deposit amount required for all commercial members will be two times the location average. For each additional meter, a deposit of $100.00 will apply. If no location average is available, (i.e. new service) applying member will be charged a deposit of $400.00. Commercial deposits subject to line extension will be determined by the Engineering Department.

Builders/Developers

A builder/developer who is constructing residential or commercial buildings will be not be required to provide a deposit for the purpose of setting temporary construction meters.

Real Estate Companies

The deposit amount required for all real estate companies will be $100.00 for each account established.
